Granting access to applications

Access to a specific application is granted through permissions. An application is initially visible only to its creator, who is referred to as the "Owner." Only users with "Owner" privileges can grant access to the application to other individuals. Users with "Owner" privileges can also grant this privilege to others. There are additional roles available, including "Viewer" (users who can only view the project but cannot grant access to others) and "Approver" (users who can approve policy violations).

Granting access

To invite someone to join your project, follow these steps:

  1. Access the "Team" menu within the application.
  2. Click the "Add Members" button.
  3. Start by entering the username of the person you want to add.
  4. Select the person from the suggestions that appear.
  5. If the user has never used Licensight before, you can also enter their full email address and select "Add by Email" (if this feature is enabled for your tenant).
  6. Choose the appropriate role for the person (e.g., Owner, Viewer, Approver).
  7. Finally, click the "Save" button to confirm the addition.

Email Invitation Feature

The ability to invite users by email address can be controlled by your administrator through tenant configuration. When this feature is disabled, you can only invite users who already exist in the system by selecting them from the list.
