Creating a report

If you want to create a report you can do so in the reports section of any application.

Creating a report

Click the "Create Report" button and select the type of report which you want to create. The following reports are available:

• SBOM: The so called Software Bill of Material will contain a list of all open-source components of an application. Different formats are supported (CycloneDX, SPDX, Excel).
• Compliance Report: A standard template integrated into Licensight provides a summary of the overall compliance. The report is based on the assigned policy.
• Copyright Notice: This report provides a list of all components with their licenses and the license text. This can be useful to fulfill notice requirements of open-source licenses.

After selecting the type of the report it is possible to configure for all projects which branch or tag should be used to generate the report. This is important as different versions of a product might contain different open-source components (or at least different versions). Licensight understands branches and tags so that you can keep track of a specific application version. It is recommended to include the version of a product release in the report name.

To finally create the report click the button "Generate Report".

Report History

All generated reports of an application will be kept in Licensight and are presented in the report section. You can download report any time and also delete old ones if not needed any more.
